Great Lunch

I just had an awesome lunch with my two oldest and dearest friends...The Twins. I love them so much. We went to Max's Burger in West Hartford Center. I had never been there and it was so good. I had a portabella mushroom burger on a wrap with a little side salad. It was excellent and the company was even better. My son Brady went with us too. It's so nice to go out with them. It's nice to have such good friends that you can count on through all the years. My mother always told me if you only have one friend that you remain in touch with from your youth, you can count yourself lucky. Well I'm doubly blessed...I have two. Thanks again guys. I love you.

Happy Holidays...Kids On Vacation. Oy

Well vacation is here. For the kids that is. I'm working both Saturday and Sunday with Monday off. The week from hell is here. Hope I don't hear the "I'm bored" or "what should I do" song too often. My mother always used to tell me to go bang my head against the wall, when I was young and said that to her. Maybe that's why I'm the way I am!!!

Brandon, my 18 year old who is going into the Air Force special forces, informed me today he wants all four of his wisdom teeth removed before he goes to basic training. I was trying to hold off since our insurance sucks, in hopes that he'll have it done once he's in and the AF can pay for it. But I don't think he can last. So now I've got to make many phone calls and find out what our plan will pay for and by who. Aggravation ahead, cause I know it's going to get me upset to hear how little my insurance will provide. But if we wait, I'm afraid he's going to get an infection or his teeth will shift more and all the orthodontist work we paid for will go down the tubes. Three kids in day care then three kids in braces...ugh.

Well, here's wishing everyone (if anyone is reading this) a wonderful holiday.
Merry Xmas and Happy Hanukkah to all.

Earrings

Just listed a couple of pairs of earrings on Etsy. The knot ones are really cute. Great Xmas gifts.

Still anxiously waiting to get back to beading. I miss it so much. Cathi and I haven't been at the torch since at least June. Seems so long ago. Can't wait to get in front of that flame and lose myself in creating beads again.

Not much else going on. Getting ready for Hanukkah, dealing with kids stuff and working. Just the usual.

Obsessed With My New Gadet

So I finally got my new phone...the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I absolutely love it. I can't stop playing with it though which doesn't sit well with the family when they want me to make dinner.

Plan on listing more on Etsy tonight so be on the lookout.
Trying to get the other half of The Beading Buddies to log in and start posting, but she's not the most computer savvy person. I'll keep trying though.

My Favorite

I listed my favorite bracelet on Etsy tonight. Why did I do that??? I think cause I love it so much. It's simple but whimsical and colorful. Guess I want to share it. But I'll probably cry if it sells. Don't let that stop anyone from purchasing though. It will just force me to make another and another and another...Yeah

Day One

Long Monday finally coming to an end. The first day of the diet is almost over, thank goodness. I have to go to bed quick so I don't feel the need to eat.

Hope to list more on Etsy tomorrow.

Listing, Listing, Listing....

Well, I'm doing my best to finally get a selection up on our Etsy store. It's a time consuming task but I think it's looking pretty good. Here are a couple of the items I posted today...

The rest of the day was spent doing house work, going to the gym and going grocery shopping in preparation for Cathi and I to start the diet from hell tomorrow.  Wish us luck

Kitchen Nightmares

So I'm a bit of a neat freak....Cathi will probably be cracking up at this post. We're totally opposites when it comes to organization. Not that you're not organized Cathi :) I love you no matter what. Anyhow, as the years go on, order and organization are more and more important to me. Minimizing clutter and finding ways to store things so I can instantly retrieve them when needed, is a comfort to me. Crazy??? Probably. So, since we moved into our beautiful new home and I've finished all the hours of painting and decorating, I've been doing battle with my wonderful husband to try and keep my kitchen table from becoming his office on a daily and nightly basis. He doesn't really have an office yet (he will soon when my 18 year old leaves for AF basic training) so in the meantime every single night when he gets home AND every day off he has, he takes over my kitchen table and turns it into the desk from hell. I CAN'T STAND IT! My beautiful kitchen that I worked so hard to make beautiful becomes trashed

So when it's dinner time I have to hound him to clean up the disaster cause I don't dare touch the "organized piles" lest I disturb his system. My anger and frustration continues....

In the meantime Cathi and I went on a buddy shopping trip to our local grocery store yesterday. We're starting a new diet on Monday, The Dukan Diet. It's going to be living hell...pure protein pretty much for 2-5 days with drastic weight loss as well as drastic crankiness. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Glass came in.

Still Waiting...

Well, I'm still waiting...Waiting for that last single touch to be done on my studio, waiting for Friday when the new glass arrives and waiting for Cathi to get the pictures of our jewelry to me so we can list them on Etsy. It's hard for us gals as you all know, especially for her. She holds down a full time job as an ER Nurse and is a wonderful mother and wife too who has lots of responsibilities. So I know you'll see something online soon. Hang in there with me.  I hate to wait. Doesn't everyone.

In the meantime, I'm still waiting also, to decide on a new phone. I have the original Motorola Droid and it's shot. The audio is bad, and it's so incredibly slow. I can't decide between and IPhone or the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I've been waiting since around September and was committed to the idea of seeing what new devices would be out before 2012. Well, nothing is thrilling me. I love the IPhone 4S but it's so small and not even 4G....Really??? I do like the idea of having all my apps and games on one device and not needing my old ITouch. What I want though is to be guaranteed I have the latest and greatest thing. Fat chance of that since they come out with new stuff five minutes after you've bought something. As you can see I'm a geeky kinda girl and I love my gadgets. Comments and criticism is welcome. Help

First Post

Ok, so here is our first official post. The Beading Buddies are attempting to get our site up and running with our web page, our items for sale on Etsy and our blog. I (sheri) intend on posting about our beading activities as much as possible to keep ourselves and our customers updated on the goings on. Hopefully, my other half of the buddies...Cathi, will do the same on her end. Within the next few days we intend on having a good selection of items up for sale in the Etsy store. If you're not familiar with Etsy, it's a wonderful marketplace for selling and buying great unique handmade crafts and supplies of every kind. It's great. Go there and search around. It's real easy to purchase from and you can use most credit cards and pay pal too. To purchase from our store, just click the link on the right side of the blog and it will take you right to the store.

Cathi and I have been busy working at our normal jobs as well as doing two local show lately. Thank you to everyone who stopped by at the St. Francis Hospital employee craft show this week in Hartford. We had a great time and lots of pieces sold for holiday gifts.

Since our studio has moved over the summer, we have kind of been in a holding pattern for bead making. The studio had been in the cellar of my house and I moved in July so we've been in limbo. Recently I've got the studio all set up and as you can see, I'm just anxiously awaiting my husbands finishing touches in getting the ventilation system put together.

Our fresh new batch of glass is due in from Frantz this Friday so I'm hoping we'll be beading and creating real soon. I miss the hours in front of the torch with my buddy Cathi. We always have great talks, laugh a little, cry a bit at times and even fit in creating beads there too. It's so therapeutic!

Hope to get there soon.
